6 εἰς
εἰς u. (2) Bei mehreren Verbis, die eine Ruhe ausdrücken, steht εἰς brachylogisch, so daß man das Verbum der Bewegung hinzudenken muß; ἐφάνη λῖς εἰς ὁδόν, er kam auf den Weg u. zeigte sich da; εἰς Σάρδεις, nach Sardes hingekommen sein; κατασκηνοῠν εἰς κώμας, sich einquartieren u. lagern; κατέστη εἰς τὴν βασίλειαν, er trat ein in die Herrschaft; ἀποστὰς εἰς Μυσούς, ἐς χωρίον, fiel ab zu den M.; στῆναι εἰς μέτωπον, sich hingestellt haben auf; in παραγγέλλειν εἰς τὰ ὅπλα, fehlt ἰέναι, wie bei uns: zu den Waffen rufen; βούλομαι ἐς τὸ βαλανεῖον, ich will in das Bad. Aehnl. εἰς ἀνάγκην κείμεϑα, wir sind in die Notwendigkeit versetzt. Gramm. zitieren mit ζήτει εἰς τὸ δεῖνα, z. B. ζήτει εἰς τὰ ἐπάνω, d. h. »siehe oben«. (4) Feindliche Bdtg: gegen; ἴεντο εἰς τοὺς ἀνϑρώπους, stürzten auf die Feinde los. Auch in gutem Sinne: gegen. (5) Bei der Zeit ist εἰς Grenzbestimmung und bedeutet. (a) bis; εἰς τόδε, bis auf diese Zeit; εἰς ἐμέ, bis zu meiner Zeit; ἐς τί; wie lange?; εἰς ὅτε, bis zur Zeit, wann; ἐς οὗ, bis daß. (8) In Ansehung, in Rücksicht auf; τὸ μὲν γὰρ εἰς ἔμ' οὐ κακῶς ἔχει, was mich anbetrifft, ich befinde mich nicht schlecht; εἰς ὅσον ἐγὼ σϑένω, wie weit; ἐς τὰ μάλιστα, häufig; εἰς χρήματα δίκην λαμβάνειν u. εἰς τὰ σώματα τιμωρίας ποιεῖσϑαι, an Geld u. am Leben strafen. Bes. bei anklagen, loben, tadeln; εἴς τε μαλακίαν καὶ εἰς τὴν ἀβουλίαν ἀπελύσαντο, sie rechtfertigten sich gegen den Vorwurf der Weichlichkeit; ἐνεκάλουν εἰς τὴν ἐπιτροπήν, über die Vormundschaft. Auch πρῆγμα γενόμενον εἴς τινα, ein Vorfall, der sich mit einem zugetragen. Absolut, εἰς δὲ τὴν τοῠ καρποῠ κομιδήν, was das anbetrifft; ἐς τὰ ἄλλα, in anderer Hinsicht. Man merke noch εἰς τὸν ἀριϑμὸν ἐφάνη τριςχίλια, für die Zählung oder nach der Zählung; εἰς τὸν πάντα ἀριϑμόν u. εἰς λόγον, in Rücksicht auf. (9) Hieraus entwickelt sich die Bdtg: gemäß, nach; εἰς το πεπρωμένον τελεῖται, das Vollenden nach dem Schicksal, drin Aufgehen in das Beschlossene; ἐς δύναμιν, nach Kräften; ἐς τὸ δυνατόν, soweit es möglich ist; ἐς ἀργύριον λογισϑέν, auf Geld berechnet; εἰς ἓν μέλος, nach einer Weise. Perh. also πρὸς αὐτούς J 20:10 (v.l. ἑαυτούς s. ἑαυτοῦ), which may be a colloquial expression = rejoined their party or group, i.e. the disciples (so Twentieth Century NT).
